Getting around Venice

There's only two ways of getting around Venice: by foot or by boat...
Walking through its narrow calli and campi it's certainly the best way to discover Venice and the splendour of its hidden corners.
But if you are lazy or tired or if you just want to enjoy an enchanting boat trip along the Grand Canal then you can use the local public transport service, run by ACTV since more than a century.

Linee automobilistiche

Per spostarsi fuori dal centro storico di Venezia, Actv effettua il servizio di trasporto automobilistico in tutto il territorio della terraferma veneziana, oltre che nelle isole del Lido e lungo il litorale fino a Pellestrina, dove, a differenza delle isole di Venezia centro storico, è consentito il traffico automobilistico.

Orario dei servizi speciali automobilistici per le scuole in vigore a partire dal 10 settembre.

Tariffe e abbonamenti Actv

Le tariffe dei biglietti per il trasporto pubblico a Venezia variano a seconda dell'utenza: turista, residente, lavoratore, studente, anziano, gruppi etc.
Per il turista che vuole muoversi a Venezia, la soluzione più economica è il biglietto turistico a tempo, mentre giovani, anziani e gruppi possono godere di biglietti a tariffe speciali.
Chi risiede a Venezia può acquistare la tessera cartavenezia, che consente di godere di agevolazioni sul prezzo di biglietti, oppure un abbonamento al trasporto pubblico urbano il cui prezzo varia a seconda della categoria.

The fourth bridge on the Grand Canal: Changes in the regular water traffic and public boat service

The works for assembling the fourth bridge on the Grand Canal will take place at the end of july and it will affect the regular water traffic and public transport services in Venice.
