Il sestiere di Castello è nella quasi sua totalità delimitato dalla laguna di Venezia ed è l’unico dei sestieri a non affacciarsi sul Canal Grande. In questo sestiere riscopriremo la Venezia tradizionale, e i dettagli della città abitata, ma soprattutto i suoi gioielli meno conosciuti. I palazzi popolari addossati gli uni agli altri, le calli strette, le piccole botteghe contribuiscono a conferire al tutto la classica aria da vecchio borgo marinaro.
La passeggiata inizierà dal simbolo delle glorie della Serenissima, l’Arsenale: il cantiere da cui uscivano le navi da guerra e mercantili che fecero la fortuna e la grandezza di Venezia. Seguiremo poi con un itinerario insolito, ci addentreremo nel labirinto veneziano, lasceremo i flussi turistici, per assaporare la quotidianità di chi abita la città per scoprire infine la sua vera essenza.
