In the little square of Miracoli, this small church rises solitary, covered by polychrome marbles both in its interior and exterior.

It is a real jewel of the first Renaissance Venetian period, built by Pietro Lombardo and his colleagues between 1481 and 1489 upon commission of Angelo Amadi, who intended to hold an image by Nicolò di Pietro (XIV-XV century), of the "Virgin Mary with Child and Two Saints" in his possession. The image, believed to be miraculous, is still hanging on the altar.

Chiesa di Santa Maria dei Miracoli

External polychrome marbles, according to the tradition come from the remains of Saint Mark’s Basilica, cover all the elegant façade crowned by a semicircular fronton and decorated with rose windows.
Its one nave interior is elegantly refined both in the marbles cover and in the precious sculpted decorations by Tullio Lombardo that decorate the gallery and the presbytery.
