Organised on the occasion of the fifth centenary of the creation of Venice’s Ghetto, curated by Donatella Calabi with the scientific coordination of Gabriella Belli and the contribution of a large pool of scholars, the “Venice, the Jews and Europe 1516 – 2016” exhibition aims to describe the processes that led to the creation, implementation and transformation of the first “fence” for Jews in the world.

Dal 26 agosto 2016 all’ 8 gennaio 2017, le sale dello spazio veneziano sull’ isola della Giudecca si apriranno alle rassegne “René Burri. Utopia”, curata da Michael Koetzle, e “Ferdinando Scianna. Il Ghetto di Venezia 500 anni dopo”, curata da Denis Curti. La mostra dedicata a Ferdinando Scianna è frutto del lavoro fotografico realizzato su incarico di Fondazione di Venezia e realizzato appositamente per i Tre Oci in occasione del Cinquecentenario della fondazione del Ghetto ebraico a Venezia.

The autumn exhibition will be dedicated to Paolo Venini, an enlightened and creative entrepreneur. Exhibiting 300 works that recount his creative vision as well as of those artists who collaborated with him over the years such as Gio Ponti, Riccardo Licata, Ken Scott, Massimo Vignelli and Tobia Scarpa.
