Located in the campo del Ghetto Novo, between the two oldest Venetian synagogues. The Jewish Museum is a little but very rich museum established in 1953 by Venetian Jewish Community. The precious objects exposed to public, important examples of gold and textile manufactures dated back between the XVI and XIX century are a proof of the live Jewish tradition.

Established with a decree of the Venetian Republic on March 29, 1516 to confine Jewish community, the ghetto, enlarged in 1541 by adding the new ghetto and in 1633 with the newest one, still preserves intact its original urban structure closed by house-towers. It represents a whole together with the five synagogues (XVI-XVII century) and the Jewish Community Museum.
Only three of the five synagogues are open to public.
Open in 1953 and recently restored, the Jewish Museum gathers Jewish ceremony and domestic objects from the XVII until the XIX century, sacred furniture, tapestries, precious ligatures, codes, silverware, window treatments for the Holy Ark, drapes for the pulpit and old parchments of marriage contracts.
The Jewish Museum in Venice is not just an exposition area, but a widespread museum, a one of a kind city plan, architectural and museum complex unique for its peculiarity.
