La Fondazione Giorgio Cini presenta al pubblico una retrospettiva antologica dedicata al “Maestro della materia” Alberto Burri (Città di Castello 1915 – Nizza 1995), curata dallo storico dell’arte e Presidente della Fondazione Burri Bruno Corà. Il progetto, nato dalla sinergia tra le due istituzioni e realizzato in collaborazione con Tornabuoni Art e Paola Sapone MCIA, si propone quale coronamento di un percorso di riconoscimenti internazionali legati al centenario della nascita dell’artista umbro.

The aesthetic of ruins is a crucial element in the history of Western civilisation: it symbolises the presence of the past, but at the same time contains within itself the potential of the fragment. In fact, a ruin is never neutral: caught between nature and culture, suspended between destruction and reconstruction, it is immersed in the flow of time while tending towards eternity. It comes from the past, confers a wealth of meaning to the present, and brings awareness to future projects.

Una cooperazione tra il Museo Diocesano di München-Freising e la Biblioteca Nazionale Marciana, Venezia.

Cuore della mostra è la cosiddetta “icona di San Luca“ di Freising, opera bizantina raffigurante la Madonna dal titolo “Speranza dei disperati“. L’icona è emblema della situazione tragica in cui si trovava Bisanzio, in lotta con gli Ottomani, tra Tre e Quattrocento. Per ottenere sostegno militare, l’imperatore Manuele II Paleologo (*1350, 1391-1425) intraprese tra il 1399 e il 1403un viaggio diplomatico in Occidente, durante il quale portò con sé l’icona e molti altri oggetti di estremo valore da donare ai potenti europei.

In questa eccezionale occasione, per la prima volta dopo più di sei secoli l’icona di San Luca ritornerà a Venezia, città del suo primo approdo in Europa.

The autumn exhibition at LE STANZE DEL VETRO will highlight the importance of the M.V.M. Cappellin glassworks between the 1920s and 1930s, thanks also to the contribution made by the young Venetian architect Carlo Scarpa.

Fondazione Prada presents the exhibition “Machines à penser”, curated by Dieter Roelstraete, exploring the correlation between conditions of exile, escape and retreat and physical or mental places which favor reflection, thought and intellectual production.

Ca’ Pesaro presents another intriguing dialogue between fashion and culture, this time focused on the pyrotechnical creativity of Elio Fiorucci,  the famous Milanese fashion designer who died in 2015 and was defined by many as the “champion  of democratic fashion”. Fiorucci, a unique personality in his field, revolutionised fashion and the fashion market by bringing the free and transgressive spirit of Swinging London to Milan at the end of the 1960s, and by moulding the taste of at least two generations of young people.

Sabato 23 giugno si svolgerà Art Night Venezia, una manifestazione, nata in stretta collaborazione fra il Comune e l'Università veneziana, che vedrà la città offrirsi in decine di iniziative culturali, dall'imbrunire a notte inoltrata.

A collaborare con "la notte bianca della cultura" ci saranno la maggior parte delle istituzioni culturali pubbliche e private, piccole e grandi, che apriranno le loro sedi espositive per un evento diffuso unico nel suo genere, con musica, teatro, danza, cinema, arte e arti: tutto in forma gratuita.
